By practicing diligent self-care, the outcomes of Morpheus8 can endure for anywhere between 12 to 18 months or even longer. Many patients opt for annual Morpheus8 treatment sessions to sustain their revitalized appearance indefinitely. Morpheus8 is so minimally invasive that it doesn’t require patients to wear bandages or wraps during the recovery period. Instead, patients are advised to adhere to the postoperative instructions and apply any prescribed ointments or creams as instructed.

Immediately following the procedure, patients may encounter sensitivity and redness in their skin. The skin may also feel notably tighter than usual, possibly oozing, weeping, or exhibiting warmth to the touch. Some degree of swelling, peeling, and flaking may also manifest. These effects are considered normal and typically subside within the initial week or so. To mitigate the potential for complications and to ensure a pleasant experience with optimal results, patients should heed the following recommendations:

1. Makeup Abstinence: Avoid applying makeup to the treated area for at least the initial 24 hours after returning home from the procedure. Vigilantly monitor the skin for signs of oozing, bleeding, or warmth. Patients may resume using makeup, skin creams, and related products within two to three days, provided these symptoms have resolved. Certain items, such as retinoids and advanced skincare creams, should not be used until a week after treatment or until medical clearance from the surgeon is obtained.

2. Pristine Application: When permitted to resume wearing makeup, employ clean brushes and tools. Always wash hands with a mild antibacterial soap before touching the skin to prevent the introduction of bacteria and germs, reducing the likelihood of infection and complications.

3. Caution with Activities: Activities that involve strenuous exertion, exercise, swimming, tanning, or other high-risk actions heighten the potential for trauma, infection, and complications. During the first week, the treated area resembles a fresh wound and should be handled accordingly. Patients should abstain from such activities for the initial day post-treatment. To further diminish the risk of adverse effects and accidents that could compromise results, patients should discuss their lifestyle behaviors with the surgeon both before and after treatment, and diligently adhere to any restrictions or recommendations provided.

4. Sunscreen Protection: Steer clear of excessive sun exposure, as the treated area will be extremely sensitive and susceptible to aging effects and harsh environmental elements, including the sun’s UV rays. Prior to going outdoors, apply sunscreen at all times to safeguard the skin from hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and other detrimental side effects associated with sun exposure. Only zinc or titanium oxide sunscreen is advised. Sunscreen should not be applied until 48 hours after Morpheus8.

5. Gentle Skin Care: While the treated area heals, there is no need to abstain from cleansing it. However, refrain from using scrubbing products and abrasive fabrics until the recovery is complete and the desired outcome is achieved. Excessive pressure or the use of harsh products on the skin can cause additional trauma to the treated area, leading to complications or suboptimal results. Cleanse the skin with a gentle, soothing cleanser and warm water. Do not rub the skin dry; instead, use soft, patting motions to dry the skin, thereby preventing additional trauma, discomfort, and preserving the results of the procedure.

6. Hydration for Skin and Body: Elevate hydration levels to maintain skin moisture and expedite the healing process. A mild moisturizer may be applied to shield the skin from environmental factors while it heals. Proper nutrition and fluid intake can aid in preserving results and mitigating the ongoing effects of aging.

It’s worth noting that some patients may not achieve their desired results after their initial session, which is entirely normal. In such cases, multiple Morpheus 8 treatments administered over several months may be necessary to attain the desired outcome.
